Congratulations to our home team Portsmouth FC as they receive promotion!
After being crowned League One champions with two games to go, Portsmouth secured a promotion into the Championship League. Not only are we proud supporters of the club, but it was brilliant to see the community come together this week to support our local team. In a thunderous display of skill and determination, Portsmouth secured a resounding victory in their latest match, propelling them to promotion.
With local season ticket holders and plenty of Pompey fans, Fratton Park witnessed the biggest win the football club has received in the past 12 years.
When we signed our initial agreement with the club before Christmas, we could never have imagined the display of support. If you’re from Portsmouth, then you’ll understand the love for our club, and at Southdowns we wanted to be apart of that community.
For us it’s important to play an active role in our area, and create lifelong partnerships with clubs, and events. Alongside Portsmouth FC we also support a more local Sunday League team Hatton Rovers, which the win has certainly given them a bit of fire too. Hopefully we’ll see a second win on the cards this Sunday!
Overall, the celebration of triumph has been fantastic to watch, and we wish Portsmouth FC every success in their new League position.
