Service Advisor
Full Job Description
Southdowns Motorhome Centre is looking to hire a new customer-facing Service Advisor. This role is to work at our busy motorhome service centre facility in Portsmouth.
As the largest motorhome dealership in the South, we have a fantastic network of customers here in Portsmouth and the surrounding area. As a Service Advisor you are often the first and most regular point of contact customers have with our company, so it is vital to give them a warm welcome and to make them feel valued with 5 star service.
The role will involve the following:
- Meeting and greeting customers
- Understanding customer service requirements and booking / Loading customer vehicles onto the workshop dealer management system.
- Calling customers to gain authorisation for the completion of work
- Invoicing including explanation of all work undertaken to the customer
- Explanation of the repairs and work completed on motorhomes to the customer on their return
- Managing the process of customer vehicles from initial contact through to booking day
- Creating job cards for our technicians with the ability to explain in detail the job requirements
- Answering emails and phone enquiries from customers
- Entering warranty claims on the manufactures systems
This role is diverse so would suit someone with experience in a similar role or position. We require at least 5years experience in the motor trade industry.
The Service Advisor role is a permanent position in our well-established family run business. The working hours are Monday-Friday 08.00 – 16.30. Free onsite parking is available. Salary is negotiable depending on candidate’s capability.

Leisure Technician – Not Mechanical
Full Job Description
Southdowns Motorhome Centre is a family owned business for the sales service, parts and accessories of Motorhomes and Campervans.
We are main agents for some of the top German brands in the industry, which include Burstner, Hymer, Carthago and Carado.
We currently have the position available for a motorhome technician to join our highly skilled and busy workshop team.
The applicant will be expected to be highly motivated and have an excellent attention to detail while working on the vehicles.
The applicant must possess previous technical backgrounds in either or all of these, electrical (12/24volt & 240 volt systems) gas /heat engineering, plumbing, carpentry.
A background in the marine or leisure industry would be an advantage.
You will be expected to work to high standards, you will be expected to carry out all aspects of habitation servicing, pre delivery inspections, fitting extras and diagnosing faults.
Being multi skilled is important as you will be dealing with the below:
- LPG installs/checks/repairs
- Internal woodwork repairs/installs
- Water systems
- 12v and 240 volt repairs and installation
- Warranty diagnosis and repairs
- Heating system diagnosis and repairs
- Installation of aftermarket accessories
The role is a permanent full-time position and offers a salary above industry average depending on skills, qualifications and experience and job stability with a well-established business.
Experience
- 2 – 5 years
- Gas Certified or willing to work towards a Gas Certification
- NCC electrical and 12V certification or willing to work towards certification
