Meet the team

Michael started Southdowns back in 1999, as a keen motorhomer himself, he wanted to share his own passion for travel. Despite taking a step back from the business, Michael’s love for motorhomes has never stopped.

Trudy joined the Southdowns team back in May 2011, prior to Southdowns Trudy worked as a successful saleswoman for Thomas Sanderson Blinds. You’ll often see Trudy on our front reception desk or answering the phone. Being with Southdowns for over 10 years Trudy is officially part of the furniture and there is nothing about motorhomes she doesn’t know.

If you could take a motorhome anywhere in the world where would you go and why?

“Greece I just love it there, the people are so friendly, the food is great, the weather is warm and sunny. You could just go from island to island staying on the beach or in olive groves.”

What’s your go to song for a motorhome road-trip?

“Well it depends on the season and where I’m going: summer is definitely the beach boys!”

Andy joined the team in the summer of 2016 as a Sales Representative and brings over 20 years of experience in the motor industry. With his extensive knowledge on all thing Motorhomes, Andy is always on hand to help you find the perfect motorhome and offer expert advice every step of the way.

If you could take a motorhome anywhere in the world where would you go and why?

Andy would take a summer road trip across Europe, starting in Portsmouth and following the coastline through France, Spain, Croatia, and Portugal, with the plan to explore wherever the road takes him. He believes this is the perfect way to discover new places and enjoy the freedom of the open road.

Ben is one of our experienced sales representatives at Southdowns Motorhomes. With 14 years of expertise in motor industry sales, Ben is passionate about helping customers find the motorhome of their dreams. For him, the best part of the job is meeting new people. Outside of work, Ben channels his competitive spirit by training and competing in Hyrox fitness events.

If you could take a motorhome anywhere in the world where would you go and why?

“I would love to take a Hymer Venture S to Iceland, where I would could camp near the volcanoes and experience the stunning natural landscapes up close.”

Paul is one of our dedicated sales representatives who joined the Southdowns team in June 2024. With an impressive 29 years of experience in the motor industry, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every customer interaction. Outside of work, Paul has a passion for music and enjoys playing the drums in his band.

If you could take a motorhome anywhere in the world where would you go and why?

“Exploring the Mediterranean coast – I love the warm sun, blue skies, and clear water.”

What’s your go-to song for a motorhome road trip?

“Anything from Motown or the 80s – especially George Michael!”

Ashleigh joined the Southdowns team in July 2024. While you might not see her in person often, you’ll definitely catch her on our social media channels. As Marketing Executive her job involves shooting and editing content, website management and so much more. She say’s the best part of her job is the opportunity to be creative. Outside of work, Ashleigh is a passionate about all things fitness.

If you could take a motorhome anywhere in the world where would you go and why?

“Spain! Especially in the warmer months, Spain is a fantastic destination. I love the food, the people, and the sunshine. I can’t think of a better place to explore in a motorhome.”

What’s your go to song for a motorhome road-trip?

“Anything by ABBA”

Claire joined the team in August, having previously worked for a motorhome and campervan marketplace website. Claire’s job involves updating our website with vehicle details and other content creation.

If you could take a motorhome anywhere in the world where would you go and why?

“I would love to do the NC500 trail. Plus any beach in a hot and sunny place, southern Spain is beautiful”

What’s your go to song for a motorhome road-trip?

“I love a road trip playlist so couldn’t possibly choose just one song!”

Simon joined the Southdowns team back in , prior to joining us Simon was working as a technician in the motor trade. As our specialist handover technician, Simon is here to help you pick up the keys to your new motorhome and tell you everything you need to know. Simon says the best part of his job is getting customers out on the road and assisting with any technical questions. He is a keen joker, so you’ll always have a smile on your face when dealing with Simon.
