A Brief History
Carthago was founded in 1979 by Karl-Heinz Schuler in Ravensburg, Germany, initially converting VW buses with a small team of just ten employees.
Key milestones include:
- 1998 – launch of the first M-Liner, Carthago’s pioneering premium liner on a Mercedes base.
- Early 2000s – shift from VW conversions to exclusive production on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Iveco chassis.
- 2004 – debut of the chic range at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon.
- Today – headquarters in Aulendorf, known as “Carthago City,” where cutting-edge manufacturing meets meticulous German craftsmanship.
