The 2027 Burstner B66 campervan range gives buyers three different layouts to choose from: the compact B66 600 C, the new B66 640 C with longitudinal rear beds, and the B66 644 C with its distinctive rear lounge.
All three are based on the Fiat Ducato and share much of the B66 Edition specification, but the way each model uses its interior space is quite different. That makes the choice between them less about equipment and more about how you prefer to travel, sleep and use the campervan during the day.

What is the Burstner B66?
The B66 is Burstner’s special-edition range, created with a high level of standard equipment and its own exterior and interior styling.
For the campervan range, Burstner now lists three floorplans:
- B66 600 C – 5.99 metres long with a transverse rear double bed
- B66 640 C – 6.36 metres long with longitudinal rear beds
- B66 644 C – 6.36 metres long with a rear lounge and fold-down bed
The 600 C remains the shortest choice, while the 640 C and 644 C use the longer Fiat Ducato body to provide very different rear layouts.
Across the range, Burstner’s UK specification includes a 140bhp automatic drivetrain, 16-inch bi-colour alloy wheels, an electric entrance step, anthracite awning, Truma Combi 6E heating, oven, sunroof and Vario bathroom.
For buyers who would otherwise expect to work through a long options list, the B66 starts from a relatively complete specification.

Burstner B66 600 C
The B66 600 C is the most compact model in the range and is likely to appeal to buyers who want to keep their campervan below six metres.
At 5.99 metres long, it combines a front dinette, central kitchen and washroom with a fixed transverse double bed across the rear.
That layout is familiar for good reason. Placing the bed across the width of the van allows Burstner to fit a permanent bed into a relatively short vehicle while retaining useful storage below.
For couples who spend as much time travelling as they do pitched up, the shorter body can also make the 600 C easier to manage in towns, car parks and tighter touring locations.
B66 600 C rear bed
The fixed rear bed measures approximately 197 x 157–149cm. Beneath it is the rear storage area, reached both from inside the campervan and through the rear doors.
The bed uses a multi-zone comfort foam mattress, while reading lights are positioned alongside the sleeping area.
One of the main advantages of this layout is that you do not need to make the main bed each evening. It remains in place while the front lounge can continue to be used separately.
Who is the B66 600 C suited to?
We would put the 600 C near the top of the list for:
- Couples who want a permanent rear bed
- Buyers who prefer a campervan below six metres
- Owners who carry bikes or touring equipment in the rear storage area
- Buyers who may want a pop-top roof
- People who want the option of extra sleeping space without moving to a longer model
If compact external dimensions matter more to you than individual rear beds, the 600 C makes a strong case for itself.
New 2027 Burstner B66 640 C
The B66 640 C is the new addition to the campervan range for the 2027 model year, providing another fixed-bed choice for buyers who like the B66 specification but want a different sleeping arrangement.
At 6.36 metres long, the biggest change takes place at the rear.
Instead of the transverse bed used in the 600 C, the 640 C uses longitudinal rear beds.
That may sound like a fairly small change on paper, but it can make a noticeable difference in daily use.
Longitudinal rear beds
Individual beds running front to back mean that each person can get into or out of bed without having to climb across the other.
For many couples, that is the reason to choose a 6.36-metre campervan over a six-metre transverse-bed layout.
The latest technical information also places the 640 C at around 2.05 metres wide, with approximately 1.90 metres of standing height inside.
Why choose the B66 640 C over the 600 C?
The main trade-off is straightforward.
The 600 C is shorter.
The 640 C gives you more length to create easier-to-access rear sleeping arrangements.
For buyers who regularly tour for several weeks at a time, individual beds may be worth the extra 37cm of vehicle length.
The 640 C also keeps two useful options shared with the 600 C: the pop-top roof and convertible front seating group. That gives buyers more scope to create additional sleeping accommodation when required. Burstner specifically lists the seating-area bed option for the 600 C and 640 C.
Who is the B66 640 C suited to?
The 640 C deserves a close look if you:
- Prefer longitudinal beds
- Want easier access to the rear sleeping area
- Regularly take longer touring trips
- Need four travelling seats
- Want the option of a pop-top
- Do not mind moving from 5.99m to 6.36m
For many couples, we expect the new 640 C to sit neatly between the compact nature of the 600 C and the lounge-led layout of the 644 C.
Burstner B66 644 C
The B66 644 C takes a very different approach to the rear of the campervan.
Rather than giving most of that space to permanent beds, Burstner uses it to create a rear lounge.
For buyers who spend a lot of time inside the campervan during the day, this can completely change the feel of the interior.
You gain a separate area where you can sit, read, relax or spend an evening without relying solely on the front dinette.
At night, the sleeping arrangement is created using the rear bed.
Rear lounge and fold-down bed
The rear bed is approximately 204 x 135–156cm.
This approach allows the same part of the campervan to perform two jobs: comfortable living space during the day and sleeping space at night.
The 644 C therefore has a different character from the 600 C and 640 C.
If your priority is leaving a permanent bed untouched all day, the other layouts will probably suit you better.
If you would rather have additional seating when you are pitched up, the 644 C is likely to be the more appealing choice.
Who is the B66 644 C suited to?
We would consider the 644 C particularly suitable for:
- Couples who want a proper rear seating area
- Buyers who spend longer periods inside their campervan
- People who do not require a permanent fixed bed throughout the day
- Tourers who like having separate front and rear living spaces
- Buyers moving from a larger motorhome who do not want to lose lounge space
The 644 C is the most distinctive of the three layouts and probably the easiest one to choose or rule out once you have spent some time inside it.
Standard equipment on the 2027 Burstner B66
One of the main reasons to consider the B66 is the amount of equipment already included in the specification.

This level of equipment is worth keeping in mind when comparing the B66 with campervans that have a lower headline price but require several option packs to reach a similar specification.
Inside the Burstner B66
Front lounge
The cab seats swivel to become part of the living area, working with the forward-facing travel seats and table to create the front dinette.
This area is used for dining, relaxing and, depending on specification, additional sleeping space.
Full leather B66 upholstery is available in a choice of interior colours, including Chocolate, Creme and Stone.
The interior treatment is one of the elements that separates the B66 from a standard campervan specification and gives the range a consistent appearance across all three layouts.
B66 kitchen
All three campervans provide a kitchen intended for proper touring rather than occasional day trips.
The current UK specification includes an oven as standard, something UK buyers often look for when comparing European-built campervans.
There is also an 84-litre compressor refrigerator, including a freezer compartment, along with cooking and preparation space.
A compressor fridge also avoids the need for the traditional three-way fridge operating arrangement and is increasingly common in current campervans.
The exact amount of storage and worktop space varies slightly with each floorplan, so this is an area we recommend comparing in person if you cook regularly while touring.
B66 Vario bathroom
Space is always at a premium inside a panel-van conversion, so the washroom has to work hard.
The B66 uses Burstner’s Vario bathroom, designed so that the available space can be reconfigured when the shower is required.
It includes an integrated cassette toilet and shower facilities rather than requiring the buyer to choose between a washroom and additional living space.
Burstner also lists a 90-litre waste-water capacity, while fresh-water capacity varies by layout and specification.
For buyers moving down from a coachbuilt motorhome, trying the washroom for size is particularly worthwhile. A campervan bathroom will naturally be more compact, but the Vario arrangement makes sensible use of the available space.
Optional extras for the 2027 Burstner B66
Although the B66 already comes with a broad specification, there are several factory options that can change how the campervan works for you.
Pop-top roof
The pop-top roof is one of the biggest additions available for the B66 600 C and 640 C.
It creates a separate upper sleeping area, making either model more practical for families, guests or buyers who occasionally need additional berths.
Burstner currently lists the Lanzarote Grey pop-top at a UK recommended price of £5,980. Factory options add weight and therefore reduce the remaining payload, so this needs to be considered when specifying the vehicle.
The pop-top makes most sense if the extra sleeping capacity will be used regularly. Couples who rarely carry overnight guests may prefer to keep the standard roof and retain more payload.
Convertible dinette bed
For the 600 C and 640 C, the front seating group can also be specified so that it converts into an additional berth.
The current UK recommended price is £420.
This can be a sensible alternative for buyers who only occasionally need another sleeping space and do not require a full pop-top.
It is also possible to combine sleeping options when a particular touring setup calls for it, although payload needs to be checked carefully when several factory additions are selected.
Truma Combi 6DE diesel heating
The standard B66 specification includes Truma Combi 6E heating.
A Truma Combi 6DE diesel/electric system is also listed as a factory option.
Burstner currently shows the UK option at £620.
For some owners, diesel heating is attractive because it draws fuel from the vehicle’s diesel supply rather than relying solely on gas for space and water heating.
Whether it makes sense depends on how and where you tour, so it is worth discussing your normal travel pattern before specifying it.
Lounge upgrade set
Burstner also lists a Lounge Upgrade Set, currently priced at £890 in the UK.
It includes B66-specific interior details such as Pure Style embroidery, headrest covers with rear pockets and B66 Edition cushions.
This is primarily an interior trim choice rather than something that changes the basic layout of the campervan.
B66 upholstery choices
The B66 interior can be specified with full leather upholstery in several colours.
Current factory information lists:
- Chocolate
- Creme
- Stone
These choices make it possible to alter the feel of the interior without changing the underlying furniture layout.
Because upholstery is something you will see and use every day, we recommend looking at samples or vehicles in person rather than choosing from a screen alone.
600 C vs 640 C vs 644 C: which B66 should you choose?
There is no single B66 layout that will suit everybody.
The easiest way to narrow the choice is to start with the rear of the campervan.
Choose the B66 600 C if:
You want the shortest possible vehicle and like having a permanent double bed.
At 5.99 metres, it is the easiest of the three to manage when exterior length matters.
Choose the B66 640 C if:
You want longitudinal rear beds and are happy with a 6.36-metre vehicle.
The new 640 C is likely to appeal strongly to couples who want easier bed access but still want a conventional fixed-bed campervan layout.
Choose the B66 644 C if:
Your priority is living space rather than leaving a permanent bed in place.
The rear lounge gives the 644 C a more open daytime arrangement and creates two distinct seating areas within a panel van.
Is a pop-top B66 worth considering?
For the 600 C and 640 C, the pop-top changes the type of touring the campervan can accommodate.
Without it, these models make very natural couples’ campervans.
Add the upper sleeping area and they become far more flexible for travelling with children, grandchildren or occasional guests.
There are, however, three things to consider.
First is cost.
Second is additional weight.
Third is whether you will actually use the extra sleeping accommodation often enough to justify it.
Factory information for the 2027 range shows that the pop-top adds around 150kg, which is significant on a vehicle with a 3,500kg maximum weight.
Payload therefore needs to be checked against the exact specification of any vehicle you are considering.
That is especially important if you are also adding other equipment or intend to travel with bikes, outdoor furniture and a full touring load.
